| Like the fourth volume, this effort ranges wide and far, highlighted by front and back covers of electric chairs proudly displayed at the Louisiana State Penitentiary in Angola. I have had the privilege of securing professional tours of the Walls in Huntsville, Texas as well, the site of more than 253 executions under Governor Rick Perry. While I could not photograph the sterile, pale green lethal injection room nor the prisoners themselves, my time with the prison guides was educational and cordial. And frightful. But the book also has ethereal scenes of eastern Washington, the Fremont Street Parade, and fading America as core content. My favorite sign I shot was this: "ECONOMY DOWN - STOCK MARKET FALLING - INVEST IN JESUS." Maybe there is a new mutual fund I haven't heard of? |
